Sitting in Matcha Mylk Bar, it's absolutely packed and almost every table is ogling over the brightly coloured, nutrient packed food that's being carried to each table. I'm here to try the vegan egg. The perfectly poached, wobbly, oozy, very egg like looking egg that the Internet is going crazy for.
This is where vegans and non-vegans of Melbourne have been flocking to eat, and it's understandable why. Run by the folks from Matcha Maiden, the plant based menu has all your favourites - pancakes with nice cream, waffles, porridge, poached eggs on toast and smashed avo - just made with differentread more
This place has no meat .... But it has matcha so im hella good!!
Ordered a matcha bowl and matcha pancake, pretty good for a vegan place considering its hard to pull off without animal products.
Quite a big space and it seems to get really busy as well. We had to wait for 40min for a table, but they did warn us and got our number so they text us when there was a table ready. Good system!
Until next time ..... Keep eating !!!
This place was rocking when we got here.... Extremely busy and lucky there was alittle market next door so we killed time there.
Food was great and quick considering how busy they was, the wait staff was accommodating with our request! The food was delicious beside the burger.... It was a great tasting burger but it was dry and well done. (not sure how Melb serve their burgers)
Overall great service and great food ...
Until next time ... Keep eating !!!!
It was to my surprise that Matcha Mylk Bars full menu is vegan food. I came here with a friend that's on a vegan diet and the presentation of the food looks
I tried the chicken burger and it almost tastes like the real deal unless you already know prior to the meal that it's vegan. To complement, the sweet potato tasted so nice with the almond butter! However, the bun was a bit dry to have with.
The matcha iced tea was a bit pricey for what you would expect as it tasted refreshing at first but tasted like a diluted iced tea overtime.
Overall, love the idea of matcha and vegan but the 1 hour wait for the food experience is simply way too long for what you get. Good experience for a one time visit though.
