AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Terrible Food and Expensive! $20 for 8 small pieces of frozen calamari cooked in old oil which tasted burnt. $30 frozen so called fish cooked in the same old oil. Cheese potato's that had been sitting in a buffet tray under a heat lamp for hours. The children's meal was also terrible.
We were recommended Matilda's by the Riverview Boutique Motel.
I was very disappointed in this restaurant. Given the prices ( similar to fine dining Sydney restaurants) I was expecting a lovely, fresh, contemporary meal. Instead the menu resembled what you might get at an RSL club or bistro ( except club food I have tasted is much nicer.) My entree was calamari which obviously had not been cooked properly and tasted floury. My main meal was scallops which were swamped in a cheese and pesto type sauce ( very 70's). I could not finish these. My partner ordered fish which had been fried in some kind of macadamia batter which he said just didn't taste right. The only thing I enjoyed was the garlic bread. I thought dessert might be an improvement but alas no - I had strawberries and cream which would have been nice if it hadn't been covered in a very sweet topping which resembled strawberry flavoured ice cream topping you buy at the supermarket. To top it all off, the staff were yelling out all the orders in an extremelyread more
The food was well prepared and the kitchen runs lie a well-oiled machine. However, I don't think we will go back after a recent visit. My family had been going there for years and the original management were great but with our recent experience with the staff, we will reconsider. There are much better restaurants in this area to enjoy.
