We came up with overseas guests for an afternoon tea. We had been praising the lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere of Miss Marples. The closing time was listed as 4.30pm on the website and we arrived at 3.45pm. The manager made it quite clear to us that we were late and that they were in the process of closing. We offered to leave but they said that, 'no' they would accommodate us but we could only order scones and tea (no savoury food). From the time that we were seated it was obvious that they did not really want to serve us. The scones were delivered to the table which looked like sliced sponge cake and there was not enough jam to go around four people. We were being watched around the corner to see how we had progressed and were made to feel quite uncomfortable.
