Can't count the number of times I've been here over the years - and most times I've been very happy. They've certainly upgraded over time, including helping with little things like putting curtains over doors recently so people don't ignore the 'do not open this' sign (this 'little change' is huge because whenever the door opened everyone else would freeze).
Food is good, though sometimes I've been disappointed with their rump steak - the other night I had it and it was chewy and overcooked. Chips and gravy were lovely though, and others in my group were happy with their meal, and even though there were 10 of us on a busy night service was fast. Always plenty of seating if you pre-book, and the menu has a lot of variety. Salad bar is standard but always well stocked, and I've always enjoyed their bread rolls - lovely and fresh.
All up it's a favourite for good reason & I'll be back.
They have certainly cleaned this place up since I first came here for a beer after watching a movie. The sports bar now has a decent beer garden and actually feels like a decent place to have a drink. There is also a restaurant attached, but we haven't yet had a opportunity to have a meal there (because we always end up eating at the shopping centre across the road). However, since they gave this place a thorough renovation it is a much better place to go and have a beer, and maybe play a game of eight ball without feeling like you have stepped into a pub from the eighties. Unfortunately my friends, who came with me that first time, do not seem to have the opinion that I have because they haven't been back since.
