This is another super-hyped restaurant on the Gold Coast. Awarded a hat by the Brisbane Times I was excited to try out and see how it adds up!
Food & Drinks: Well, bascially this was a real let down. At first I was impressed with the menu, it looked good. For steak lovers - this is your place. After all, it is what I'd describle a "fancy stakehouse" and it does well for it. I was told the steak was good, not expeptional but good. I had the fish. Which was ok. It's not a seafood restaurant so I didnt expect all that much. However I didnt expect my food to be covered in so much salt I felt sick. The side of greens was covered in oil, charred to the point of being charcoal.read more
The cocktails were great, the waitstaff were very friendly but the food took 1.5 hours to come out and wasn't great. The duck was way too salty, the seasonal greens were overbooked the chips were cold, the risotto was underdone and the steak wasn't very flavourful for $70. No one acknowledged the time we spent waiting. Very disappointed to have such a mixed experience. If you're going to charge that much for food it better be excellent and efficient service.
