Gambier City Bowl is now a place where I could take my family. It has been cleaned up so much to how it was before the new proprietors took over. The staff are very switched on & have a good knowledge of the Industry. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to have a good time in a great enviroment.
Fantastic entertainment venue in the mount. Staff are always happy and is incredible value for money compared to amf (approx 40% cheaper). The food is excellent value for money. The improvements that have been done to the place are excellent for the time the new owners have been there. The old Odeon Plaza has finally had some life put into it (on the outside and on the inside).
Would definitely recommend it to family & friends.
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!
Took my young son there to join a juniour league and he did not have a pleasant time at all. We are an indigenous family and it felt like we were been left out compared to the rest of the kids in the league who were Caucasian.
Toilets also were not very maintained at all, would not recommend the place at all.
Manager sat in the office the whole time leaving a casual staff member to run the place by himself, luckily he was very experienced with the sport .
All in all, was not a pleasant experience and I will not be recommending any of my friends and family to go there ever. Indigenous people also did not seem very welcome at the business with staff watching us like a hawk.
My son has recently started bowling in the Junior League at Gambier City Bowl and we can't say enough about how fantastic they have been. David and his team have been so supportive of the junior bowlers. They have gone out of their way to make it fun and exciting for the kids - the kids got to work towards getting their own bowling balls (which they all got at the end of the term, complete with bowling bag), and they had a party night at the end of the term, and they have lots of little spot prizes during their games. The kids all seem to have a great relationship with the staff there, and they are quick to offer a bit of coaching if the kids want it.
The bowling alley is looking fantastic as the new owners have done lots of work to bring it up to a high standard.
I highly recommend league bowling as a great social sport for kids!
Also, they make the best coffee in town and their hot chococlates need to be seen to be believed!
We recently had our daughters birthday party here and we were really surprised. Fantastic easy going service (which is a must when contending with young 7yo girls) Very cost effective way to have your kids parties. Food is basic but in all honestly its all they need and want. They even had the music and dancing lights on for them which was fantastic. They all had a ball and would certainly recommend it to anyone.
