My partner & I recently chose to dine at mud bank after reading the menu in the hotel room. We both took the $60 2 course menu. Very disapointing and very over priced for the quality and portion size of the food. The pork belly was mostly unrendered fat. It takes a while to get the taste from your mouth. We were still dispointed that we were ripped off several days later. I wish i had of read these reviews prior.
Such a good location and such a boring place. There's so much opportunity here to make Mud into a really great bar, but people keep pouring in so no one has the motivation to do it. Their cocktail selection has no creativity, the bar staff are completely demotivated by their job, and they don't even really take advantage of their own awesome location. Try harder, Mud, and you could be such a great place.
The Mud Bar & Restaurant was extremely disappointing. Expensive for the quality of food served. Low quality AND quantity coupled with high prices has left a bitter taste to my night out. Adding to that, we encountered an extremely condescending wait staff who refused service of alcohol based on a lack of ID. This is not what was annoying, it was the way in which staff went about it. Having been the subject of condescension there was no way in which to further enjoy my evening and we were glad to get out of there!!!
The Mud Restaurant & Bar is located on the best site on the wharf at The popular Seaport Marina. The building is purpose built, ultra modern, the designer has created a great flow from bar, casual, private, to group dining, and lounge area's to relax, the flow continues through to a very large covered Al fresco area. The decor, ultra modern, very trendy, with the outstanding feature being, replica Eames chairs in bright orange, oh so comfortable. The architect has enabled the view of the Tamar, wharf, assorted boats, distant hills to be viewed from all points inside and out.
From an excellent menu plus specials, our entree's were, Pressed lamb, gribiche sauce, grilled ciabatta. Unusual, delicate, and surprisingly tasty; Blue eye fish cakes, with fennel and aolia, rocket and lemon. Delicate andread more
