Came by the lower deck for some takeaway fish and chips. Bit pricier than the less famous venues nearby but also not as pricey as perhaps I expected. I'd definitely recommend getting takeaway to get away from the crowds, and take it around the corner somewhere to eat by the water in a bit more peace.
Mures Lowerdeck was recommended by several locals. Location is great and ambiance is good, casual feel. They are more expensive that the fish and chip punts along side the wharf, but as a previous review states, you pay for extra to sit inside in air condition comfort. The fish and chips were reasonable, but fish serves are definitely smaller that what we are used to getting in WA.
If it is bad weather, then I would recommend going into Mures Lowerdeck . Otherwise, buy from one of the wharf side outlet and enjoy the fresh air.
Mures does have a great ice creamery.
What a disappointing experience. Mure's once had the reputation of being the place in Hobart for quality seafood at a reasonable price. How things have changed. I ordered their squid, only to be served pre-frozen, pre-crumbed supermarket squid rings. This came at a premium price. Will not return.
