Just a fantastic museum in the heart of Brisbane. It's free of charge and there's always something interesting exhibiting! There's a lovely little shop, the building itself is gorgeous the tiles are just beautiful and you can even get a free guided tour. Best of all you can get a free tour of the clock tower!!
I love this museum, there are always two or three great exhibitions running simultaneously!
Fantastic to pop into when working in the city and looking for something to do on lunchbreak to avoid the heat of summer and the office. Be sure to check out the free clock tower tours!!
I should have realised that since this museum is located in the Brisbane Town Hall that it was basically going to be all about Brisbane. However, for some reason I was under the impression that it was a museum in Brisbane as opposed to a Museum of Brisbane. Anyway, that aside, it is certainly an interesting place to visit, especially if you are one of those people that are really interesting in history and want to view some things about the origins of the city. Mind you, they certainly do love their river because there is a huge display all about the river and how the entire city is focused around it (much more than other cities that I have visited, but then again the Torrens in Adelaide, and the Yarra in Melbourne, are little more than large creeks). They also have the occasional exhibition here, such as the collection of Hollywood costumes that were on display when I was there, though the only reason they had that was because somebody in Brisbane had collected themread more
