Not one of my favourite places for a Sunday Session. The Normanby gets genuinely rowdy, full of incredibly drunk people with nowhere better to go on a Sunday. And it's not even cheap! The pub downstairs has reasonable food, and if you go on a Saturday it's a lot quite. But the Normanby is known for its Sundays, and if you're not prepared for a very messy Sunday Session, I really wouldn't recommend it.
A great place to celebrate St. Patricks. Or gather a huge group of people together for a party. Sunday sessions in summer can make it interesting. Live entertainment is a standard downstairs on weekends.
The venue is massive, a few rooms and floors mean there are differences in music, variety of drinks off and on tap and food cooked. The restaurant is the only reason I care to mention this Hotel, it's steaks really are cooked perfectly. The interior is still well looked after too. A good place for a weeknight dinner, (bar friday) when parking isn't a myth.
