We contracted Ocean Sky to send our personal belongings via a shared container more than three months ago, when we were promised that it would take between 2-3 months for the boxes to reach us in Europe, and they have not only NOT left Brisbane as yet, but we are told that if we want them to go any time soon we have to pay more money. Customer service is non-existent - our phone calls and emails do not get answered. This is the worst ever dealing we have had with a company. We are also kicking ourselves for not having gone to True Local before contracting them. At this stage we have lodged a formal complaint and are awaiting advice from the Office of Fair Trading. We would strongly urge anyone considering the services of this company to reconsider.
This would have to be the worst company I have ever dealt with, I am astounded at these positive reviews here on True Local. Still waiting for my belongings to leave Australia after 2 months, there is not even a potential date of departure. The staff lack any form of customer service whatsoever, even to the point of saying that I am not entitled to a certain level of customer service as I am considered a "budget" customer. The company is great when they are quoting, however when they get your money & commitment the customer service flies out the window. I have been charged approx. $320 extra for packing boxes I didn't even know I required (could have supplied these myself if I had known I needed them) and since I am overseas was unable to do anything about it. If you hear them on the end of the phone, hang up, as you are likely to be told in a round about way that you are not worthy of their time. Disgusted.
At the time of posting this review the client still had not paid the account. Thank you for finally arranging payment we will start the shipping process. May I also say that this move was arranged sight unseen and there was additional packing that was not mentioned at the point of the quote.
It is amazing that Ocean Sky is still unable to accept responsibility for, or even provide an apology for, the shameful customer service and lack of respect that was shown throughout this process. The account was paid in full months ago, the additional payment for boxes was only on hold from our end as we were unsure of whether this company would come through with our belongings in the end at all - not to mention the fact that this company never expressed a due date of payment for this additional payment at any time. Despite this, lets put it behind us, and fingers crossed our belongings arrive safe and sound soon.

That is good news. I was wondering - did you ship from Brisbane to the UK? Or to somewhere else?
My belongings have been sitting with OSI for over 14 weeks now and they are yet to leave Brisbane.
We decided on Ocean Sky as the quote was the cheapest. There was a reason why - some things were not packed properly and in fact there were boxes which I originally packed and have not even been touched by the shipping company! As a result I found boxes where plastic containers were secured and wrapped in paper; and boxes where glasses had not been secured at all! On top of that we got hit with high customs fees; disposal fees for items and also just before our stuff was delivered - I was told that the access to our apartment is not "standard" so the company was going to charge me additional $600! They had my delivery address all along and only the day before the delivery they decided to look up myb address on google maps and tell me that. In the end I hired a different company (2 men and a truck) and what was going to cost me $600 with Ocean Sky; cost me $100 in the end!!! Thanks for your review Nat. Unfortunately when you bring prohibited items into Australia you will be up for Quarantine Fees and Customs fees. We are not the people that packed your goods if you were an import client. The problem with anonomous reviews is that for a start you are not accountable and secondly I cannot look you up and address your concerns. Sorry your experience was lacking and just a tip if you cross a boarder check the regulations. best regards, OSI
I have shipped my things back before from overseas and was very disappointed in the whole process. This time, Lisa in the Ocean Sky office was just fantastic. Nothing, but nothing, was an issue for her. She made sure that the suitcase was picked up to suit me and delivered to my door. Last time the delivery was left on the street . This time my things were carried up stairs for me. I am MOST impressed with the service.
