Oscar W's Wharfside

Sadly, Oscar W's is not the place it once was. At my last lunch, I found the service to be very poor and the menu to be disappointing in terms of limited choice. I was also not impressed to find that my suckling pig was in fact pork belly.

I can't believe that there are some good reviews for this restaurant after I found quite a number of negative reviews for this restaurant on other websites. I wonder if my review will be published on TrueLocal. That's was the worst restaurant experience we ever had. This is one of only two dining places in Echuca port. The restaurant is located in a very nice place on the bank of the Murray river next to paddlesteamer station and that's why we have chosen it. We came there at the lunch time and although there were not that many people there we were not welcomed and not allowed to seat where we like. These seats remained empty until we left. Menu seemed to be interesting but very expensive. However, when we ordered we found that plates are big but food is very tiny and even kids complained that it was not enough. Head in for lunch or cofee and cake to make the most of the beautiful view over the Echuca Wharf area. Staff are incredibly friendly. We dropped in for coffee only and had two children under 4 with us, they bought over bread and colouring books for the kids which meant we could relax with our coffees and enjoy the view. Perfect afternoon.

Beautiful Tapas menu at a reasonable price, enjoy kicking back in the port area sipping local wines and looking at the river. In the restaurant the dinning is quite pricy however the meals are lovely. Polite staff and good service.
