Our vision is to provide professional dance tuition to students who strive to pursue dance as a vocation. Our classes cater for students from 3 years of age up to adulthood.
Our core focus is classical ballet and we teach the international RAD syllabi. Principal Ballet Teacher, Megan Wood-Hill is the only local registered RAD teacher operating in Karratha and surrounds. Principal Tap Teacher, Leah Nagy is an affiliate member of CSTD and provides exclusive tuition in CSTD tap, CSTD jazz and CSTD acrobatics. She will be teaching the newly released Jason Winters Contemporary Syllabi to students in Ovation's Youth Performance Company.
Examination opportunities are made available to students in RAD Ballet, CSTD Jazz and CSTD Tap Medals.
Competition opportunities available to students at the annual CSTD State Competitions. In 2013 our soloist competitors placed in Honourable Mention, 3rd, 2nd and 1st across Jazz and Tap in their relevant age categories.
We are a very active dance company and our professionalism has attracted great opportunities in 2013. We continually perform at a myriad of community events and fundraisers.
We are the first local company to be commissioned to produce a headline act for the 2013 Red Earth Arts Festival using local talent. Funded by the Shire of Roebourne, Ovation produced the Mad Hatters Tea Party with 32 of its most accomplished students.
In the past 3 years we have assisted our students in achieving their vocational pursuits via successful auditions and acceptance into elite full-time training programs:
Treya Long (2011) WAAPA - 2 Year Certificate Course
Hayley Bruce (2012) Dynamic Performing Arts with Suzanne Arrigo
Ethan Louis (2012) WA Conservatoire of Classical Ballet with Beth James
Kirra Doherty (2013) Terry Simpson Ballet School - Adelaide
Nathaniel Crummer - Australian Ballet School Interstate Program for gifted students. Commences in 2014.
