Being sued, thanks to Ownit Conveyancing
They had gross negligence and it's a shame that there is currently no association to govern this kind of misconduct. After settlement, I received a letter from a solicitor representing the previous owner of the apartment, saying they are taking action to sue me. I had to spend quite a bit to engage a lawyer to fix the issue. Never, ever will I use them again and I recommend all my friends and everyone here to stay clear of this so-called conveyancing firm. You are the helpless one as they are representing you during the entire settlement process. If they handle the task terribly, trouble goes to you, not them. So choose smartly.
DO NOT USE, REGARDLESS OF THEIR ATTRACTIVE PRICING - At first we were happy enough with the service ownit provided, they were not the most friendly or informative, however we had a relatively simple purchase, and a great agent, so we really just needed the job done. Fast forward 2 months later and it is a very different story. NEVER use this company. Their lack of attention to detail has caused us months of stress, worry and left us in debt. They admit fault but do not do anything to rectify the problems, and their customer service is HORRIBLE. They never return emails or phone calls and even though they have admitted their negligence, we have been left to rectify this issue ourselves, at our own expense.
Terrible! The house settlement did go through but obtaining information from them about what was happening was like pulling teeth. Very uncommunicative. MANY mistakes, which i had to keep pointing out, and settled the house without one of the conditions being met. Had to chase this up with them afterwards. When speaking to the director, it was one of the most rudest calls I have ever experienced. Apparently settling a house without one of the contract conditions being met is ok!!? For selling our house we are using Rivercity Conveyancing and they are heaps better.
