The wholemeal block was well-proofed and had good flavour. I was also relieved that it wasn't too salty. You can taste the difference between this fresh loaf and commercial breads straight away; there's better texture and a nice crisp crust. If I was being pedantic (my favourite pastime) I'd criticise their slicer. The thinnest setting (medium) is still pretty thick. Even so, for such a wholesome loaf, I don't mind. The small fruit bun was likewise pretty good. There was a decent amount of fruit, and it was again not too dry. To take it to the next level it needs a heavier or more generous glaze, and maybe a little extra spice, just to distinguish it from a plain white bread dough. got to be experienced......take away the pizza's ....a really traditional style too.
Lots of nice little cakes too.
Staff were friendly, and prices are good......a really good local store.
