Travelling into Rockhampton on the Bruce Highway from the north, the Parkhurst Tavern is a relatively modern building on the northern outskirts just before you hit the traffic lights and about five minutes before you set sights on the first set of golden arches.
Ive visited on numerous occasions. The food is good with daily specials available, the service is prompt, the prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly. It can get extremely busy though on any day of the week (not just weekends), which is probably an example of just how well loved the pub is to the people of Rockhampton, particularly those who live on the northern fringe.
