At Paw Behaviour, we not only love dogs we know them and understand them. We have been helping owners and their dogs build happy and rewarding relationships since 1999.
We will get you on track with basic obedience, house training, excessive barking, separation anxiety, and most other issues you may be experiencing. Having your own personal dog trainer is wonderful if classes are just too distracting for your dog.
Private lessons are a great head start before commencing group classes and with all the family involved, everyone can help train your hairy hound!

As a vet, with further qualifications in animal behaviour, I see a lot of dogs that as part of their treatment, for a behaviour problem, require further training from a professional dog trainer. My preference for using a dog trainer is they must have the correct training ethos as well appropriate qualifications. Jennifer from Paw Behaviour is thankfully one of these people. For clients that I see in her area, I always refer them on to Jennifer if they require further training. Furthermore, I know that she runs excellent puppy pre-schools and I highly recommend her for one-on-one training as well as group classes. Jennifer keeps up to date with the latest scientific developments in dog training but also has a huge amount of experience that she draws on to train dogs on a daily basis.
I liked these classes so much I came back with my second dog. Great classes. The instructor was very knowledgeable and was always able to come up with helpful answers to questions. Small classes and individual attention during classes. Highly recommend these classes for new puppies whether you've trained a dog before or not.
We were lucky to find Paw Behaviour on the internet but subsequently speaking with people in the doggie world we discovered PB are well known and respected After over 4 decades of dog ownership Jennifer's classes are the best we have experienced The classes are about training the owners as well as the dog Jennifer has great advice about reinforcing the dogs best and most wanted behaviours in a way that bonds the owner and there dog Jennifer with her wealth of knowledge is the "professor" of dog training Highly recommended
As someone who lives with the joy (and challenges) of a multi-dog household, I have been searching for just the right dog trainer for some time. I think I’ve really done my research. I read lots of articles and sought opinions from many people in the dog world that I trust and respect. I kept coming back to the same business every time – Paw Behaviour owned and operated by Jennifer Wilcox. I don’t live locally to Paw Behaviour and I travel some distance to attend, however I don’t regret for one minute making that decision. I started with a 7 week Basics Course with my youngest dog and I’m just about to complete a 7 weeks Basics Class with one of my older dogs. I have a keen interest in dog training and behaviour and every minute of every week, I’m learning something new and the information is always incredibly interesting and practical. My relationship with my dogs has benefited so much and even though a multi-dog household will always present challenges, I’mread more
Thanks for your kind words which are much appreciated! We are so glad you have enjoyed our classes and keep coming back for me. It's really rewarding for us to have people in class that love to learn and appreciate the benefits of positive reinforcement training, as opposed to harsh methods. We look forward to seeing you again soon and meeting another one of your very lucky dogs! Warm woofs from the whole team.
We loved it and our puppy loved it too. Very professional and our super amazing expert trainer was patient and understanding.I think this is the best way to train puppies as no punishment is involved and it's all about showing them what's right. Thanks Jen you are fabulous. Highly recommended. Thank you, Asta's Mum & Dad
Thanks for the feedback! We always love a terrier in class and Asta is very lucky to have such a fab family who took the time to learn how to train him. Dog training is a skill and although many people muddle along doing the best they can, with a little bit of advice, the results can be so much better. Congratulations and have fun with that gorgeous boy!
