We were in the area and wanted somewhere to eat - that was also air conditioned, so we decided to pop in. Perhaps it's under new management - or they just had new staff but the young lad that served us was great, he was very friendly, happy and helpful. We placed our order and within 10 minutes both meals had arrived at the table. The food was well cooked - I had the prawn omelette and it was stacked full of prawns, hubby chose the curried chicken and rice which he said was very good. The meals were hot, and a good size portion for the money paid - $9.00 each. I couldn't fault the food or service and will be back again.
Recently we attended a small family function at the RSL, and while I was a bit *dubious* after my last visit, it was a family event, so went along. I think there has been a change of management as this time the over all experience was much better. Arriving at lunch time we found a table quickly enough, placed our orders and the meals were delivered promptly. The serving sizes (portions) were good and the meals were presented nicely enough. The food was nice though, and over all it was a better experience than my last visit. Still have to go to the bar for a drink, and you order at the counter, but the staff seemed in a friendlier mood this time.
The club is quite small and very modern but their *Chinese restuarant* was a complete let down. A booking was made for a table for 12 people, there were 4 square tables pushed together - more suited for 8 or maybe 10 people, so we were all *wedged in*. While it was a bistro style menu, there weren't enough menu's for everyone, so it took a long time for us to order. Expecting something a lot more classy and *upmarket*. The menu was rather small and was more like 50% Chinese and 50% fish and chips and burgers. There didn't seem to be a dessert menu or tea and coffee and you had to leave the restuarant to go to the bar just to get a drink. The staff seemed *fed up* and not at all helpful, instead of wanting to be of help, they seemed more *put off* if they were asked anything. I certainly wouldn't be in a hurry to eat here again.
