I dined here with my partner based on all the positive reviews I heard about this place. After hearing all those positive reviews, I was looking forward to a lovely date night. Being a wine bar, you'd expect the staff to know their wines, we ask for wine recommendations only to have him basically name the wines he had in stock. Not very helpful.
We ordered the 5 course meal where they decide for us what we’ll be eating. I found it strange that they didn’t bother asking if we had any allergies (not that we did have any). The first dish we had was the salmon which was absolutely amazing. A great start to our 5 course meal, but unfortunately it went downhill from here. 2nd last dish were steaks, we had 2 pieces each, and strangely were cooked differently. I attended this place on a Thursday night with a group of friends. The ambiance was nice, not too dark and not too bright. The place has a massive wine collection displayed all around the inside of the restaurant. Their tapas were okay, my favourite was the mussel on the toasted bread. I ordered their steak as their main and it was cooked to perfection. I found their steak sauce to be a little bit average but overall a lovely experience. Their staff were nice and accommodating. Would definitely come back to this place again.
Having been here before I know that this is a great stop for a warm and friendly if not romantic lunch or dinner. Their wine selection leaves the competition in their wake. Their food is the sort that Master Chef entrants would die to create, so tasty that you are ''forced'' to enjoy every morsel. But they still don't have candlkes (see my former post)
