The worst pub feed I have ever had! We honestly waited almost 2 1/2 hours for our food at 1 hour and 45 minutes we asked where our good was and was told another 10 -15 minutes - ended up being another 45 mins for food that came out inedible, and when food was taken back the rude cook (I won't call him a chef) argued that's how food should be. No apologies were given at anytime or no explanation for why it took so long. We had to go and demand they give us the kids meals after having kids wait 1 1/2 hours. Steaks were tough, ribs just fat and inedible, cold salt and pepper squid and hot salads. What a joke! Worst eating experience any of us have ever had. Don't waste your money on this place. We never will again. Doesn't deserve the one star I MUST give them.

The bar is a bit bright for my liking. Feels like everything is on highbeam and metal and tin used in the area makes it worse.

The restaurant feels very nice and comfortable, never hot or cold. Food is nice, although slow to be served, it seems the menu is too complicated and vast for those in the kitchen or it's not prepared to have more than 1 or 2 tables at any time. Good value and good sized meals though.

Toilets are a massive letdown. It's like the pub was renovated, added a $20k kids play area, new carpet and paint and a new bar, but totally forgot to move the toilets out of 1910. One stall was broken and a dirty mop was there when we visited.

Stopped by for a Sunday lunch and found the place very popular with the locals. The menu is quite diverse and very impressive for pub fare. Not just burgers and fries but everything from pastas to steaks to garlic prawns to seafood linguine (highly recommend this dish). The outdoor beer garden was simple but the beautiful weather made it enjoyable to be outside. The wait for our food was quite long, at least 45 minutes, but once we were served every single meal was delicious and cooked well. The chips were cooked in a beer batter and were exceptionally good. All 7 of us were quite happily surprised and we will definitely go back again next time we're in the Hunter.
