I visited the store today I can only imagine the lady I spoke to was an employee not the owner as I wouldn’t think the owner would speak so rudely to customers I will not go back
My partner and I have spent several thousands dollars at Antique Revival over the rears. We have always found Gino and his wife to be great, and have not understood the many negative reviews. But, we do not have children, understand mid-century furniture and have money (speaking candidly). So this weekend we headed to Milton with a friend who has a four year old son. I was a little anxious based on what others have written, but figured we would be OK as past customers. Far out. Gino’s wife walks out of the store and says full volume to Gino, “I do not like kids, you go in and watch the child”. Mind you, our friend was holding her son in her arms. It was designed to make us feel uncomfortable and it worked and completely wrecked our day. I do not understand. Look, business owners have a right not to like kids and to be snarky to customers. I actually am fine with that. But, consumers also have a choice where they spend their money and we will not be back. I have ...read more
Gino and Revival does not deserve your business. While he does have some nice pieces we recommend avoiding his rudeness, his arrogance and his overinflated view of his expertise, which is actually not that impressive. We have just walked out of his shop after being in the process of finalising a $750 purchase, within a short amount of time, for suddenly being agressively harassed for not making the decision fast enough for his liking and asking a very simple question about the timber used in the piece. Gino threw a minor tantrum, told us "I do not have time for you" and then "get out of my shop". It was also concerning to hear him talk about people who sold him furniture as "idiots". This poor behaviour is a very bad reflection on the otherwise lovely town of Milton. There are many more friendly and deserving businesses to support!
Some beautiful retro pieces here, things I'd love to buy but the proprietors are so rude they won't be getting any of my hard-earned dollars. If somebody is rude once it could be that they're having a bad day, but judging from my experience and after reading other reviews here, it seems to be their preferred way of dealing with customers. Some people shouldn't be in customer service, it seems.
