Maybe this isn’t the easiest of pubs to get to, but then again the best pubs seem to be like that (though not all of the best pubs). I ended up here after some rather awkward bus rides, but it was certainly worth it. In a way it seems to be one of those pubs for everybody. In a way it has its regulars, yet feels just like one of those awesome inner city pubs. Great selection of craft beers and great staff certainly add to the atmosphere. Oh, and I also love the art-deco architecture.
The Robin Hood Hotel’s distinctive wedge-shaped Art Deco silhouette has long fascinated me on drives through Charing Cross. Inside the architecture is shown off to good advantage with a light, open plan front bar that lends itself to daytime thirty-somethings keen for a drink...
Casual low key dinner for a Saturday so we could eat and watch footy at the same time. Robin Hood has undergone a renovation in the last year and looks good. Polite staff and service was very fast.
My hubby got the special - $20 for ribs and chips which he enjoyed and I got a very nice morrocan lamb Salad - it was spinach, tzatiki, beetroot, sweet Potsdam, fetta and a generous serve of lamb. Very nice salad, possibly a bit much sauce (which Is big for me to say when I often have more sauce than food on my plate). Saturday 7-9pm has cocktails for $10
and I got a mojito - that's a pretty good deal. They have karaoke there too.
It's a fairly young crowd there.
Enjoyable for an easy meal.
From the outside, Robin Hood Hotel at Bronte might not seem a lot. But come inside and you are in for a treat. Occupying a triangle corner building between Bronte Rd and Carrington Rd, the building is filled with mixed of vintage atmosphere and rejuvenated decor, including plenty of modern writings and murals on many of the walls. The place is spacious and has plenty of dining seats, as well as beer garden area, and a lounge-like area near the pool table for drinking sessions.
In regards to the food, the range was quite extensive and the quality was acceptable. The chicken burger was nice, and probably one of the best. The rump steak was alright although it was a little bit overcooked than requested. The mussels were a lot better but the sauce was a little salty to my liking. We also tried their chilli coleslaw and it was just a standard quality.
The staffs were friendly and courteous.
