Samford Pet Resort, previously Samford Boarding Kennels and Cattery, was established in 1985 by Garth and Karen De Bruin and is now managed by Director Blake De Bruin (their son) whose aim is to provide the very best home away from home for the dog and cat population of Brisbane.
The facility was established after many years of showing, breeding and obedience training of Samoyeds, Newfoundlands and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Garth and Karen saw a need for a professional pet resort to provide facilities above and beyond the normal offering.
Blake, Garth and Karen combined boast over 70 years direct experience in the industry, so you can be assured that your pets are well cared for and in professional hands.
In Oct 2000 they opened the first five star Dog Boutique Suites, with own room TV, Air-conditioned, bed, chairs and pillows, and three years later opened the Pussy Villas, for the very spoilt cats, own room, TV, Large scratching poles, beds air-conditioned and own outside Garden Atrium.

Samford Pet Resort gets our pets approval 100% Have never seen our dog so happy to go anywhere he has made so many friends from him day-care stays so we knew he’d have no problem staying for a longer stay when we go married . My pets have always loved staying at the Pet Resort. We love the cheerful staff that greet us upon arrival that know our dogs straight away. When we introduced 2 new cats to our family they made it even easier for us by offering the van service to collect from our local vet saving us the drive out. Very Convenient.
Intelligent, efficient, friendly staff member took my booking. Received comprehensive email confirmation of booking. Very professional and problem free. From what I could see (exterior grounds and garden and office) all was clean. Good price for location and convenience, however boarding an animal is an expense one has to budget for but worth it for good care. Every time we have liaised with staff they are always super friendly and efficient, even when rushed off their feet booking in numerous animals. We collected our dog, in the middle of the low from Cyclone Marcia and the rain was torrential. The girls at reception were drenched but still putting on a happy face. The lady who collected our dog CARRIED him UNDER HER OWN RAINCOAT to our car to keep him dry. The staff member was soaking wet but went the extra mile to ensure our dog got to our car in an exceptionally dry condition. Talk about customer service extraordinaire.
I have been using samford pet resort for the last year that I have owned my dog and was a customer of samford pet resort from many years ago in that my families dog stayed here for holidays and weekends. Ive always said how great I felt they cared for my dog and I firmly believe its standards are high inside the kennel for your actual care of the dog. We have always had such nice things to say of the place when we would recommend it to friends. Yesterday however was my first and rather bla encounter with the staff here. We were aware that check in is 8-12pm and from 1pm in the afternoon. Sure we were pushing it and hoping to make it on time. We arrived to the place right I kid you not on the strike of 12.00 according to my phones location based time clock. We saw about 4 staff walking in between the office and wherever they break for lunch. We say hopefully "did we make it?" Thinking to ourselves its exactly the deadline and they havent shut the gates. I thank you for the review in which you have provided and I can only say that I'm very sorry that this was your experience. I can't comment on the time for which you arrived as I was not present, however, regardless of this I agree with you that a little customer service would have been more welcoming. As you found out, we do close between 12pm and 1pm for the staff to have lunch but in light of your comments I will look at options that may resolve the issue should a client arrive on the dot of closing so that this issues does not happen. I will also bring this up at our next staff meeting for discussion and I will review the roster to see if I can determine who the staff persons were, who may have given you this experience in order to retrain as necessary.
