OK I agree with the previous reviews, the food is not the best....well the last two times it hasn't been that flash but I've given up on their food and I just love this place to sit back and relax with a chilled drink or play a couple of games of pool. Anywhere you sit in this place you are guaranteed a magnificent view of the strand. Food aside it is a great place!
Last week I attended a private function at the Seaview Hotel on the Strand in Townsville which included a light repast. With at least 5 people paying $10 a head we did not expect too much but we did expect more, and better choice of nibblies that we recieved. Two trays were set at the table, each containing very high fat content foods only. Eg; deepfried chinese geegaws, crumbed, chicken pieces, party pies etc. Then after the tables had been cleared and packed away, speeches made and preparing to leave, three small pizzas were delivered to the room. None of this food was prepared from the in house kitchen, apart from the deepfrying it all appeared to be prepackaged foods. Even if half the money paid out went to the food it was very little value. With todays focus on obesity surely it would cost no more to present fruit and veg type nibblies which they could have got from Woolworths if they did not want to make up themselves.
