The family and I went to Sidetracked last saturday, and although they were extremly busy the very helpful staff managed to make my kids day and we were able to do everything that we wanted to do (totally recommend calling ahead). We were only going to have a go kart ride and head off somewhere else for lunch, until we saw what was on the menu. We decided to give the pulled pork burger and chicken tacos a whirl and were very happy that we did. We all had a wonderful time and decided to try out the laserforce and bowling as well, before we knew it 3 hours had passed and we'd had a fabulous time. Thanks Sidetracked team, we will be back very soon:)
I was very disppointed with Sidetracked Go-Karting today. My family loves go-karting and this is our third time attending. Today my younger son was required to take the "mini kart" option because of his age. I paid for the round and it turns out he was too tall for the mini kart (he had preiously only ever used the "Rookie Karts" at Sidetracked).
When I tried to explain this to the server, and even pointed out there were much smaller and younger looking children using the Rookie Karts, I was smacked with some of the worst customer service I have ever seen. He implied I should have lied about my son's age and admitted that the other parents probably did so. But he didn't care about their safety and didn't care if they lied. When I asked for a refund the server refused and tried to make me pay for another round so he could ride with me!
I could not believe the flippant attiude towards both customers and safety.
Very disappointed to read your review and that you feel you had such a bad experence. You say this was your third visit so I assume your first two visits were good ones. As the managing director I assure you that we take a customers enjoyment and satisfaction very seriously as we are an entertainment facility promoting fun. We must also take saftey very seriously and have a fantastic track record. For you to say that one of my staff would suggested that you lie about your childs age and that they don't care about your childs safety is unperceivable and if that occured I would not have a place for that staff member. If you would like to discuss this with me personally please give me a call. Regards
Don't bother going in off-peak times unless you have a group big enough to satisfy management that it is worth turning facilities on. When we rang in advance to discuss what we could do at their venue with the gift vouchers our children (aged 7+ and 10) had received, we were told there would be no problem, just come in anytime during their opening hours and mid-week afternoon would be fine. Only after our family arrived, we were told that Dodgem cars are "too boring" with just our family and that our kids are "probably are not tall enough". Our kids are over 125cm tall and we have never had such a "too boring" excuse from other dodgem car providers. Yet the Sidetracked website and brochures clearly state that children aged 7+ are welcome on Dodgem Cars and there is no warning of a minimum number to turn on the facility. When we asked to do the Lasertag, we were again told that it would be "too boring" with just our family, Yet there is again nothingread more
Hi Alethia. I am sorry you did not have a good experience here as we strive to make sure everyone has fun when they come. I dont see any problem with your kids being able to do Dodgems if they were 7 or older - even if there was no-one else here. Yes it is more fun with other people included - but we will, and always have run rides with just 2 cars in them, and the same with Laserforce (but again - more fun with more people). I am disappointed to think that one of my senior staff may have mislead you and would appreciate a chance to make things right. Please contact me on 9562 7607 and identify yourself and we can have chat. Regards - Mark - Manager of Sidetracked.
Was here with a groups ofteenagers from my daughter's highschool as a bit of a party. Also accompanying me was one 9 yr old & another adult. There was certainly enough to keep us all happy for 2.5 hours. The cafe area had comfortable seating & offered refreshments for the adults. The go-karts were thoroughly enjoyed by the older girls & I felt the teenagers were well looked after in respect to preparation by the staff. Laser Tag is always fun, each session runs for approximately 15 minutes; plenty of time for the mission. Mini golf was available also. The mini ten pin bowling was lots of fun for my younger daughter & myself, as she found controlling a smaller bowling ball easier. No bowling shoes required but do wear closed in toe shoes, as they are necessary. The centre also hosts a number of arcade game machines, including ticket machines & the latest "Deal or No Deal" game that is favoured amongst children & teens alike. Could not fault the staffread more
