If I could, I would give them zero stars. After a wonderful vacation, our bags were loaded into the Silver Service T-2038 taxi at the Sydney airport only to discover it filled with cigarette smoke. Not wanting to make a scene and have our bags removed I sat in the disgusting taxi for the long ride to our Sydney hotel. Fuming mad. How disrespectful of the driver! I never write reviews but this so irritated me I felt I needed to warn others. The driver has a load of cigarette butts in an ashtray by his side. Also, when trying to inform the taxi service through their website discovered their “complaint” link rendered a 404 error. Nice touch. I will never hop in one of these taxi’s again and suggest you too avoid the pain.
I have been unlucky enough to get the same maxi taxi driver from the international airport twice. Both times he complained about the trip only being short after he'd waited 2hrs to get a fare at the airport and then mutter under his breath constantly about it. Rudeness plus and makes you feel really horrible. Now let's mention his driving...deplorable, dangerous and terrifying are the words that come to mind. Swerving all over the road, hard stopping and starting almost hitting cars in front, running red lights and beeping at other drivers. I feared for my life; and I'd just come from Bali where the roads are crazy!
Taxi was filthy, the driver added extra charges for no reason and then told me I must be imagining it when I asked about it (he then took off money so I assume I was not wrong in challenging at all!) and really just reiterated that Uber are a superior company. We were picked up today at the airport by cab T4441. We had luggage from an overseas trip and were told the boot was full so the bags were piled up on the front seat and all around us - a bit like a third world bus. The driver had no idea even where our suburb was and the sat nav was not operational. When we asked for some air con, we were told it wasn't working
We have decided to take uber next time. Why bother supporting taxi companies whose vehicles are not maintained to a minimum standard and are unfit for purpose.
