I took the scenic steam railway one way and the skyrail back, like so many others. The skyrail is a quick way to arrive (compared to the railway) but I must warn you. If you dislike heights, you might not enjoy it. Also, the skyrail is far above the treetops, I didn't actually see much except a blur of green. Also, as the skyrail moves between concrete pylons it more

I would recommend to go up to Kuranda by Steam train and then take the Skyrail going down. It was a lovely view going back down and relaxing just being in the cart by ourselves and taking in the views. It was a good experience. Just like the Steam train, the cable carts and the stations were both well maintained and clean and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

One of the top tourist things to do in Cairns is the Skyrail. We caught it from Cairns to Kuranda, and then caught the scenic railway train back down to Cairns. The Skyrail stops at intervals and allows you to get out and explore some of the rainforest, and see the amazing barron falls.

No trip to Cairns is complete without a trip to Kuranda on the Cable car. The trip takes approximately 45 minutes with a couple of short breaks to stretch your legs and have a walk in the Heritage listed rainforest with one of their many knowledgeable and entertaining guides.
