So this time I called in with a family member for lunch, as she wouldn't eat any where else. At first I knew from the last experience that I must not choose a meal, but choose a sandwich - after all how can you stuff up a sandwich.
Lunch was ok! However the service was really lacking. We sat inside and didn't realize there was a "no trolley" policy. After all Spargos is in the centre of a huge Westfield shopping centre. And after having a staff member come over and bring us our cutlery and napkins, and another staff member walk past to another table, and pointing out our table to the girl behind the counter (who took our order) we then had a staff member come over after about 15minutes of small talk and told us we had to move to the outside of the shop because we had a trolley! oh my! where and when did this place go so far down hill :(
sooooooo sad to see a beautifully revamped place with a great menu and reasonably friendly staff lose the AWESOME atmosphere and food?
firstly i'd like to say - great job on the revamp. it looks modern, and certainly draws people in. but it kinda stops there.
i had a chicken stuffed with camembert cheese, wrapped in bacon served with roast potatoes and broccolini - but it was completely drowning in sauce which just killed this dish. not to mention the chicken was over cooked and dry. such a shame.

I am a regular customer at Spargo's for last 5 years. not anymore after the experience I had today. I ordered a skinny cappuccino. the staff made two coffee's using full cream milk and gave one coffee to me I was not expecting because I saw the staff using full cream. I told the staff I ordered skim milk coffee the staff said it is skim milk . when I told the staff I saw them making with full cream the staff shows me a full can of skim milk container and says here it is. This I the best example where one employee can spoil the reputation of the whole business.
Great location. Customer service is hit and miss - sometimes really great, sometimes very poor. Food is generally good though with large serving sizes. Can get pretty noisy when it's busy. Some good special nights (2 for 2 pasta on Mondays, Kids Eat Free Tuesdays, $11.50 Schnitzels on Wednesdays).
