I did not eat here, given reviews that I have read. But I bought my wife a frappe, a coffee for myself and other drinks for our kids. In that sense, all was fine; but we, and that most definitely includes me, were struck by the Egyptian atmosphere. That ALONE makes this a MUST visit.
Worst food ever. Poor service. Salad looked like it had been sitting in the fridge uncovered all day as it was dry, and my fish tasted like it had been fried frozen, it had an awful texture about it.Very overpriced for such s**t food. Haven't had a worse meal in my life. Contacted the establishment to make a complaint and their response was just sorry, didn't even try to make it up to me. What happened to the customer is always right?!
I attended the Sphinx for the first time for dinner. I ordered the so called angus beef steak $27 and mushroom sauce $7 (seriously) $34 being a pub and not having attended before I ordered my steak medium (as in rare, medium or well done) I receive my dinner ... The Veges are cold and over cooked, mmm I live with that, I cut my so called medium steak and it's grey and dry, not a hint of pink anywhere !!! So I speak to the wait staff, honestly I couldn't eat it, it was so dry and over done. Staff offered me a free desert, I kindly decline, my dad who had paid for the meal asked for his money back, the wait staff goes away and the kitchen staff comes out without as much as a hello how can I help, starts having a crack. Without making a scene I tried to explain that I ordered medium, the kitchen staff proceeded saying it was medium if I wanted pink I should have ordered medium rare, I go ok but this is well done, if we're going to get technical it's not even medium to well doneread more
