Not impressed. Took my boat in with one problem, got billed $800 and went out of my way to pay it upfront (trying to do the right thing). Picked up my boat and within minutes of of starting my enginee had a new problem. The new problem was interesting because it could easily be caused by a miss rewiring of sensors, which they had to disconnect when they worked on the first problem. Neverthelss I was told it was a new issue that by coincidence just happened to have popped up. Billed another $400 and when I sent a friend to collect the boat they refued to release it until I paid. Had to pay by CC and send him back. I will never use their services again - I good mechanic is worth his weight in gold problem with these guys is they think they are 'gold' but fail to understand that is something their customers decide on not them.
The initial issue was a seized shift rod, caused by lack of maintenance. The second issue was an unrelated electrical issue as a result of prior lack of maintenance. There was a third issue which went to another shop and 'Essper' tried to place the blame on Statewide Boating but was unsuccessful. Just a pity this client is so bent on trying to destroy a business yet he cannot get the facts correct.
Came back to this, looking something up and saw the response. Looks like “the customer is always wrong’ type attitude from the owner. What the owner fails to mention is how an engine fails to work properly after it has just been given an $800 service and was driven straight from their workshop and put into the water. How on earth is that possible other than the obvious, they did not check the engine after servicing. Had they done so they would have known there was a problem. Instead they blamed me for somehow breaking the engine on the 5-minute drive from their workshop to the marina. There where people at the marina who saw me put my boat in and take it straight out again. Perhaps the owner should reflect on the fact that “if you run a business and give poor service your customers walk.” Had you looked after me you would have been servicing my boat every year and getting paid for it. Instead once again you blame the customer for everything.
