Had day surgery at this hospital recently. Apart from two nice, caring staff found whole process designed around the hospital's and surgeon's requirements - no process put the patient first. I would never go back as some staff were extremely unprofessional - shouting to each other across the ward, even complaining about other staff. Not my idea of a 'private' hospital - I had to wait on a gurney for over 2 hours, they can't even be bothered to give you a bed. And don't even dream you might have an actual room to wait in. Nope, on a gurney along a wall. They chuck you out 2 hours after the operation, regardless of how you're doing - and you spend that time on an uncomfortable chair - yes, a chair, after knee surgery. No beds in the post-operative section. They also sent me home at 8pm, with a prescription for pain killers that I couldn't get filled because pharmacies are closed. Had day surgery here recently and was very happy with the way they looked after me. Staff all seem caring and "patient". I've got quite a phobia about surgery. In fact this was my first one in 40 years. But they put me at ease and didn't ever leave me waiting round long enough to have full blown panic attack. One thing I didn't understand though. Whenever I've had a baby (at other hospitals) they've insisted on me leaving the hospital in a wheelchair even though I'm perfectly capable of walking. This time I'd just had knee surgery and a general anaesthetic and had to hobble all the way out myself. I felt like passing out by the time I got to the car. I wouldn't have complained about being wheeled out that time.
