Templestowe Hotel

Well, it took me a good twenty minutes to walk from the bus stop to this pub, but then again I really wanted to make an effort to come and check this place out at least once (and since Templestowe is hardly a place I would ever consider moving to due to the lack of rail transport, once is probably going to be it). As you can probably guess, it is a suburban pub so has everything you would expect in a suburban pub. Mind you there is a nice view out over the back balcony, though not as good as some of the pubs that I have seen up this way. I didn't mind the place at all, but half of it had to do with it being really quite, but that had more to do with the time of day I passed through here than anything else.

Went here for the buffet during the week - sorry to say it's really, really bad. started at the salad bar - the pasta salad tasted uncooked, dry and hard., the tofu salad was inedible - appearance and texture of soggy cardboard.

The "asian" food - well, let's just say never eat asian food at a pub.

The carvery was a mixed bag - the pork was as bland as the salad, but the beef (if you were lucky enough to be there when it was fresh) wasn't too bad with the mushroom sauce.

Seafood - well there's only prawns and that's it.

The rest of the food is you usual assortment of pizza, pasta, etc. nothing special and nothing tasted any good.

Dessert bar has a nice pannacotta, some icecream, variety of cakes.

Overall very very unimpressed, it felt like you were in a prison canteen and tasted as good. Avoid avoid avoid.

Hungry??? Try the Friday night seafood buffet - always fresh, always full, always satisfying. Lady at front reception is great and handles the crowds tremendously.

I absolutley love this place and so do my kids. The food is great, the staff are great and there is plenty of entertainment for the kids. Good value for money too.

great food, all you can eat. They have a kids play area so the kids can be entertained. Reasonable prices, nice staff, great place!!!
