The view & cake is very nice. No faults there!
However avoid the Chicken Parma, unless you want a side serve of disappointment.
At a price of $23 I had expected a real chicken Breast, not a $2.50 Coles deli special oversized Chicken Nugget Parma, which does go better with the Ballarat Gold theme....
Quite possibly the WORST Chicken Parma EVER!
My family booked a table for 15 people 6 weeks prior to the event (13th jan) for my mums 70th birthday. We arrived and waited to be seated with staff ignoring us until I saw that some of our guests were already seated so just made our own way to the table. I have to mention at this point the photos on the website are nothing at all like the actual room. Very tired and dated and in need of a good spring clean. The wait staff were quick to take our drink orders then that would be the last of any service that we didn't have to flag a staff member down for. The food arrived and I was quite disappointed in my duck penne everyone else's meals were just ok. To top the afternoon off one of the staff came to our table about 2.40pm to ask us to move to the lounge area as they had a 3pm booking!! Very clumsy waiters. Quite expensive. But worst of all the food! barramundi was half the size of a pack of cigarettes and very dry and the scallop sand prawns were as tough! My partner had chicken and it was also very very dry, When mentioned to the waited stated he would pass it on to the chef. No follow up and charged full price! Unacceptable for a restaurant that charges $30 mains. Avoid unless you're there for the view.
terrible service, therefore very overpriced. the staff lacked any interest in offering any level of service, even for water you needed to work overtime on getting noticed, than the order was stuffed up with the side dishes ordered, missed, than brought out after the mains were nearly finished and still charged full price.
Despite the excellent setting and ambiance of the restaurant we will never go back, unless new management take over. It was bad.
