It's been years since I went to the Ginger factory. I tell everyone who I know is going to Queensland to make this trip. I can still smell the ginger! It was a lovely place! I loved the kangaroos and wallabys who wandered around the grounds. i saw a koala and learned about them. I bought lots of sourveniers to take home to the States. Most striking was the beautiful grounds. My husband and I had lunch thre. The train ride was fantastic! This remains one of my most favorite places to visit in Australia.
I was sceptical about the Ginger Factory for a family daytrip but I was proved wrong. We had a great time on the train and boat rides and wandering through the little rainforest walk. There’s a great outdoor play area for children and a lovely café serving up good coffee and cakes. The lunch options looked delicious and there’s even a full ice-creamery where you can make your own gingerbread man!!
We went to the Ginger Factory last weel the grounds were beautiful nice to have a walk around, We couldn't afford to do the rides but we did go on the tour and it was really informative and we enjoyed it, I was a little disapointed that even though the tours only run a few times a day the ladies in the factory were on smoko when we went through so we didn't get to see the machines processing and sorting the ginger. We did get to see the big buckets of ginger churning away.
If you're ever in the area The Ginger Factory is definitely worth the visit. General entrance is free and you can go for a walk around the ginger & honey gift store and walk around the grounds where there are other little shops and nice rainforest garden to walk through.
Everytime we go we'd always make sure we take a photo with the sailor ginger man statue and also the other original ginger man.
The ginger beer tour is also a good one to go on which has a fee but it includes a tasting demo as ...read more
