The largest collection of Australian art in the world is on display in all its glory here. Touring and permanent exhibitions range from Indigenous art and collections from the Colonial period to the present day, including works by Russell Drysdale, Arthur Streeton and Sidney Nolan. Melbourne certainly has its fair share of galleries, and the state art gallery has such a large collection that they have split it into two. Well, this is the one where you go and see the Australian art, and honestly, I’m not really a big fan of Australian art. Still, as an art gallery it is pretty good, and does have a decent collection. Oh, and it is also free, so that is something to take note of as well.
