The Old Vine

My partner and I went there for dinner last night. I had been wanting to try this place out for a while just because I liked the look of it. When I walked in my first thought was that the decor was cool and suited the building. The next thing I noticed was the smell of a really nice candle. Not a smell that clashes with the food though. We both ordered something we wouldn't normally order. Both meals looked amazing. My partner probably got the better tasting meal but mine was still great. We then shared a dessert and it was also really nice. It was a perfect way to finish off our meals. We thought the prices were quite reasonable.
There were 2 staff members we saw working that night. They were both friendly but one was more friendly than the other. first time that i have to give this place less stars :( what a bummer
this place performs so well with food and catering for all needs. however on this occasion the management was fairly sharp, rude and seemed like they couldnt give a stuff if we were there or not. it was a sunday evening, and my friends were there the night before and said they had a brilliant night. possibly the "end of weekend blues" - however this should not be displayed to customers. it wouldnt hurt to crack a smile, and its not the end of the world that the door be open a couple of mm rather than walking or should i say, storming up to the door to shut it on several occasions.
after the poor customer service this time, i dont know if my friends and i will be going there as often. and as regular patrons, i would expect to be treated well as should every one else.

An outstanding new autumn menu!! I think I said spring on the photo, but I meant autumn... The food is yet again to die for. So happy that the menu had changed, but sad that delicious salmon dish from summer isn't still on there. By far the best I have eaten ever

such delicious food - if you are in the area of aldinga or even close by, you simply can not miss out on trying this place.
the chips are like no other cafe i've ever tasted. the flavor is beautiful.
the staff were exceptionally helpful, especially when it came to choosing a suitable wine to go with our dinner. The kids meals were presented beautifully! why should they miss out. the little garnish of side salad is so cute, my kids loved their meal looking like a real adults meal. Thank you for being so wonderful and helpful with our ordering and having such a nice menu that changes all year round.

This is a hidden away cafe that needs to be talked about!!! It is pumping!!! Has an amazing atmosphere - if you aren't living this way, and go on a trip to victor harbor, do your self a favour and stop here for food!!! Delicious, sensational flavours with a great organized service.
We had a group for a birthday and it was wonderful service. The prices, I think are very very reasonable for cafe prices.
Hats off to the chef - I have since been back once, had a friend book a function for three months time and am going again tonight!! The food has been raved about by our group of friends. So your doing something right!
