The Sardine Room in Potts Point offers a modern, sophisticated dining experience with fresh fish dishes the key attraction. Food is cooked simply so natural flavours have the chance to shine. Choose from options such as poached cod in red curry, grilled barramundi with Vietnamese salad, or seafood pie with mussels, prawns and fish.
The restaurant is in a nice setting, off the main drag and the menu looked good. It was all looking very promising until someone came over and started giving us what can only be described as the most partronising run down of the menu I have ever experienced. After making a light heated remark about the 'Fish Pie with detachable lid' they berated me and threatened 'I have banned people for less than that'. The rest of the interactions were disgraceful with them acting in an aggressive and surly way throughout the rest of the meal. It was painful paying and we left as quickly as we could.
Only go to this restaurant if all others have closed down and you are desperately hungry. The service is worse than appalling.
