Where shall I start.
Came there in september for a headgasket repair or engine change.
They called to pick up the car several times, let us wait a few hours to then tell us we can't take it home.
A few times we picked it up and started driving only to find more problems. Yes it is an old car but all trouble started when they touched it.
They rewired the ignition too, weird system that cost us another 360$ to fix when the car wouldn't start anymore.
Right now I'm waiting for a mechanic to give me a quote on the work he's doing atm. The engine came lose (???) while we were driving because it wasn't tightened properly. Causing more damage on other parts. I can only hope I have enough money on my bank account to pay for that.
All the trouble we had with the car since we left the workshop has been related to the work they've done. And it is costing us a lot of money.
Don't go there.
I have been using The Workshop for a number of years and take both mine and my son's cars there. As a single woman with no car knowledge, I know I can rely on Gerard and the team to look after my safety, and he lets me know 'what needs doing, when'. The price is affordable and the service is terrific. I'm very happy to continue using The Workshop and to rcommend it to others.
I've never bothered to write a review before but can't recommend avoiding this place any more strongly than this. DON'T GO THERE! They will use good front of house service as a foil to over priced service and mystery faults. Took my car in for a roadworthy only to be told it needed a a part replaced. They advised me the dealer wanted more than $1000 for the part but not to worry, they could get one for less than half that and have it in that day. A quick search online helped me discover that the part was less than $200. Worse yet when I phoned the dealer, they would sell me a genuine part for less than $200 as well. So I ordered one myself. To make the matter even worse again, a quick check by someone in the know repaired the fault in less than three minutes with no parts needed - just a simple reset of the vehicle electronics. Now I have a part I don't need that I forked out for, due to a lack of knowledge from the apparent experts. Read the reviews - take themread more
Gerard and the team of Technicians at "The Workshop" have been dedicated and extremely helpfull with sourcing and finally repairing my Alfa. The car developed a massive electronics problem which kept throwing up different faults. Several specialist organsations were engaged to carry out testing. They failed to satisfactorily explain or indeed correct as they had been contracted to do. Gerard and I were suggesting where the fault may lie. It turned out it was the original supply of a key part, that had failed. In all "The Workshop" did a fantastic job given all the obstacles put in the way by the third party suppliers. I'm certain these suppliers will be examined closely, if used again.
I've been taking my cars to Gerard and the team at The Workshop for a number of years. I won't take my car anywhere else. I've had a number of issues with a 15 year old car (all due to age) and I love that Gerard will tell me what's urgent and what can wait. It's the trust factor that keeps me going back!
