Quick, Full of Choice and a user friendly menu to suit all palettes catering to the traffic of locals and visitors and couched in predominantly Italian dishes! Love it here, strategically located at the junction points of Potts Point, Darlo and Rushcutters! We had the GRILLED CHICKEN breast with mash and carrots served with a Limone sauce! Nicely cooked and dominating portions that fill the plate.
The BISTECCA VELOCE involves a scotch fillet so there was no way I was going to choose anything else - YUM! You get to choose your side so I had mine with a garden salad and it was cookedread more
I've been enjoying the delights of this cafe for over 25 years, so they must be doing something right. It's in cool Darlinghurst, so you are assured a passing parade of cool people walking by. Coffee and food are always reliable and prices are fair. Good spot and lots of regulars it seems.
Surprisingly I don't mind the food here, even though it looks pretty meh from the front. Their portion sizes are always generous, and it's super cheap. It's a good spot to sit and people watch, especially if you're there pretty late and watch the night of the cross pass you by.
Entering Tropicana Caf is light being transported into the earlier decades of Sydney. With a cafeteria-style dcor, the caf has a traditional yet non-classic ambience, and you can feel this more when you visit them after sundown where the white coloured lighting makes it feel surreal, like you are at the Happy Days diner where Fonzie usually went.
This restaurant serves both made-to-order quick eat foods as well as some desserts and drinks. You would order and pay at the cash register and the food will be taken to your table.
The staff that served me at the cash register was prompt and friendly. However, I found the staff that served my food a little impolite when she placed the food on top of the magazine I was reading without saying anything or giving me notice.
The restaurant also mentioned free one hour Wi-Fi, but mine expired as quick as 10 minutes.
