I went with two other ladies from Fremantle for a dinner out - we love Vietnamese cuisine and had exhausted our local Vietnamese restaurants!
Checked out the menu online prior to visiting and looked good - little pricey, but described on site as 'fine dining' so quite acceptable
The dcor is interesting. A beautiful tree in the centre of the room which provided almost enough lighting for the entire open area, a very high pitched ceiling with silver (alfoil looking) materials, Christmas trees, a fish tank and various gadgets around the place. Not fine dining design. Tables were basic, no cloths or ...read more
I love Vu's restaurant. I have been going there for a few years now and i can't fault this place. My favourate dishes i have been having always are Vietnamese curry lamb, Fish ginger and Hanoi fried prawns. It is just so fresh, taste sensational and always consistent. I go there as i believe i get what i paid for and appreciate their quality and service. I would highly recommend this lovely place.
This restaurant claims to be Vietnamese and yet there are very few if any authentic Vietnamese dishes on their menu. It is mostly Chinese or Thai. We ordered the Pad Thai ($22) and it had 2 prawns, minimal chicken, all over cooked, with the sauce tasting like tomato sauce - the servicing size was pitiful for the price. We also ordered the Green Curry ($24) and it was cluggy, sort of curdled looking. The rice was over-cooked and cost $3.50 each serve. We will never go back, terrible food.
One Friday night I craved for Vietnamese food so our family went to Vu in South Perth. I thought the menu was a bit bland in that it is more like a Chinese one rather than authentic Vietnamese. The service was attentive, maybe too attentive and i liked the ambiance but in terms of food no dish impressed my family. It was a nice try but I don't think we will go back there again.
