This place is a weekend hotspot for those that want tasty tunes, good food and a free and easy atmosphere. The food and drinks menu is what you would expect of a up-market pub on the water. Not the cheapest meals but you are also paying for the position and experience. This close to the water I would opt for the chilled seafood platter or the sushi and sashimi boat if don’t worry about price and just want to soak up the environment. Also, the sliders are a good option as well. Grab your sunnies, put on a white button up, blue shorts and boat shoes and head on down to soak up the rays and enjoy your weekend. Larger groups should book a table and if you are heading in on a sat/sun get there before 12:30. Beware, while the ferry is the nicest way to arrive, on weekends by the afternoon it is usually running late - just stay longer and enjoy yourself!
Gets very busy - so get there early!
The ambience is perfect for a relaxing summer drink with mates.
The food - simply amazing, especially if you get seafood.
I had the roasted salmon, and it melted in my mouth.
The cauliflower and chick pea salad that accompanied the salmon was average. Had too much turmeric.
Drinks and cocktails are lovely. They are watered down though. We ordered about 8 jugs of cocktails and didn't really feel the alcohol. The food isn't the greatest either. I would stick to the burger or the fish n chips. You can't really go wrong with fish when your so close to the water.
The venue is so lovely. We went here for a 21st birthday event in the Top Deck Area. It has quite good cover from the wind (which it was a very windy day). The food was quite average, it wasn’t anything too special despite the exclusive location by the water. It was the Saturday of the Father’s Day weekend so we were sure that was the reason why the food service was so very slow.
Watson’s Bay Hotel is a fancy pants beach hotel located in a really convenient place if you are visiting Watsons Bay via ferry. I really liked this spot for its minimal seaside décor and array of indoor/outdoor seating options. The menu is themed too with a wide variety of really fresh seafood dishes which are great to share over a glass of wine or two. They have quite a few good events on throughout the year too, although after trying a few I probably wouldn’t bother going to anymore because, as with the rest of Sydney, it is painfully busy and you barely get a chance to experience anything of what you’ve paid for. Nice upscale beach hotel, definitely worth a look-see.
