We get our fish several times a week from White Fisheries & have always had beautiful fish. Having previously lived in Northcote, within easy walking distance from Canals Seafoods which receives accolades left, right & centre, I actually think that White Fisheries well & truly gives it a run for its money.
As a side note, 'Shopwise' appears to have been incredibly unfortunate with their experience, but it is one that we have not shared, not after 50+ visits.
Bought scallops here for Xmas. These were frozen, which was okay, except when they were thawed they smelled very off. We were going to use them for a seafood risotto, but threw them out instead. Very disappointing. The rest of the seafood was good, just disappointed in the quality of the scallops. I could of taken them back, but, the distance to travel there would have been worth more than the scallops,so didn't bother. I'd think twice about going back.
Very disappointing for a new business traveled from Geelong to shop at Whites Fisheries and i must admit it was disgusting the staff acted like it was my fault when i commented ,all the fish looked like defrosted anyway.
For a start, you haven't even stated what it was that appalled you so much.
I've been a customer of them for over 17 years, and used to buy fish before it was even displayed, such was the confidence that we had in their recommendations. The new shop at Drysdale has only further enhanced their reputation as the leading seafood retail outlet in the Geelong region.
