If there is one thing I can say about this pub is that the staff are really honest. I accidentally left $40.00 sitting on the counter (I really don't know how I missed it) and the owner brought it out and gave it to me. That action alone gives this pub a very high rating in my book. However, unfortunately, there is nothing about this pub that sets it out beyond that. It is the first pub you come to when you drive into Adelaide from the North, and it is a much better pub than the Cross Keys further down. It also has a motel attached to it, probably to cater for said drivers. Beyond that though it is little more than a suburban pub with a restaurant, front bar, TAB, and pokies room out the back.
Well i can say the venue seemed quite nice at the beginning and the staff very friendly then it all went down hill quickly!!!!
We ordered our meals of a porterhouse for the wife, 2 kids steak meals and a kids schnitzel for my self as i had just eaten a little earlier and didn't want to just sit there as the family ate their meals, also a pint and glass of wine.
Quickly the kids meals arrived and when the waitress realized i was eating the schnitzel she pretty much threw it down at me in quite a rude way, a couple of minutes later the lady who served me came to the table and began to give me this lecture in a loud voice so all the tables near by could hear that it is not ...read more
Love the new decor and restaurant which is far enough away from the pokie room so we didn't hear the machines. The staff were friendly, especially bright and bubbly Anna. Food arrived quickly and was good with a decent size serving. The sweets bar was a hit with most. Free WiFi helped keep the granddaughter busy, though it would be nice to have an area for the kids. We look forward to a return visit.
Service was found to be ordinary!Staff horribly rude! Greeted us with "what do you want?". Steak in-edible! Ordered Medium rare and came dry and well well done! Other steak we ordered was also over cooked but we didn't bother complaining, fish was crumbed after being cooked and had bones in it!? Total experience was one I will not have at this place again!! Only thing nice was the oysters!!
Actually myself and 3 others went yesterday and it was the worse meal and service I have ever experienced. Things haven't changed, we had a miserable wait staff and thought it was just a bad night. We were going to complain to management but the other two staff that were on were just as bad. We were there around 6 months ago during the daytime and we thought it was great, service and food. NEVER going back Disgusting!
I have been a frequent diner at the White Horse Inn and always had a great meal. I took my grandchildren there in the last week of the xmas holiday's. I had fish, when it came, It was not cooked & I told the waitress. It was sent back to the kitchen & another was sent out, it was the same. The manager came to me & said the cook said it was cooked & it must be the fish as they had changed their supplier. I haven't been back until yesterday. I had fish again, well, it was raw. It had just been put under the grill to just colour it. The standards have definitely dropped in my opinion, salad bar, only 1 choice of soup. I will NOT be going back to the White Horse Inn.
I should have also said that the the it had changed hands two week before Christmas 2009
