We went to Wine Bank on View for pre-dinner drinks. It has an excellent wine list, including a scrumptious sparkling shiraz by the glass. The heritage building is a beautiful setting for a wine bar. We didn't order any food, but the dishes being delivered to other tables looked good. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Bored with regular banks? The Wine Bank on View in Bendigo is an impressive establishment that offers thirsty patrons an impressive array of wines, boutique beers and other delectable beverages. Housed in a genuine heritage-listed, high-ceilinged bank building in the very nectary of Bendigo, the Wine Banks charms are accentuated by its scope. Teetotallers and food enthusiasts can peruse the menu of seasonal delicacies which - although slightly pricier than I am accustomed to - is still reasonable given the quality. Wine lovers are soundly indulged with a range of quality wines to choose from, as well as other elixirs of extroversion. Wednesday at the Wine Bank is definitely not full of woe, as they have free wine tasting to help you get over hump day. Seating varies from tables out front (for those who truly do want to be 'on View') to wooden barstools and rustic tables inside and my personal favourite: a cosy leather couch by the fireplace.
