For me, visiting this Woolworths at Surry Hills is a little bit like time travelling. From the outside, I could already feel like you are going to experience something vintage. Step into the store and I immediately feel like I was being transported into the 80s.
The shop might stock fresh foods and the latest groceries, but the atmosphere and ambience is very classic, with barely any sight of modern dcor or anything resembling an object from this millennium (unless perhaps the self-serveread more
On Monday 23rd June, i purchased some shredded ham from the deli, when i got home and opened it, i notice a funny smell coming from the ham, my housemate came home from work and i got her to smell it as well. It was off ham. Just a warning to anyone who bought some that day, yours may have been off as well. I have contacted the store and notified them.
Convenient location in the busy little precinct of Bourke Street for the local residents and visitors to the area. Supplying all your needs expected of a larger chain supermarket including a neat gourmet selection of antipastos, delicatessen items and alike. Friendly and efficient staff that allow for a smooth transaction for a quick in and out shop. Ample parking available at the nearby St Margaret's Car park which offers the first hour free. Convenient late night trading hours and onsite security for a little bit of peace of mind
While I have always lived in the area, I have never really shopped at this Woolworths but since moving closer to it, I have found myself there a few times over the last fortnight. I am thankful that for a city/express woolies, this store has a large range and is as big as your normal suburban woolies but the check out process is so slow. There is always a line and staff just dawdle out the front. There really needs to be more people on the checkouts at peak time. I realise this isn't sustainable all throughout the day but in the evenings and weekends, there should be more people on the checkout.
