Yea is a very charming town. Stopped in on the way home from Phillip Island and so glad we did. This delightful bakery has amazingly delicious goods and also supplies you with a ladies and men's toilet for your comfort. I had a very delicious pasty, hubby a meat pie followed by a melt in your mouth vanilla slice and one of the best hot chocolates I have ever had, hubbies coffee was also wonderful. A real home bakery with country hospitality.
A small town cafe, as a family we were on our way to Alexandra for a day trip. Given the long drove from Melbourne, we did a pit stop in Yea. Several Cafe's along the main strip and Yea Bakery was the one that stood out from the others. Given the amount of people walking in and out we knew it was a popular. So we cam in, and yes indeed it was a busy cafe for a Saturday morning. It looked like a family owned business and generally i find family owned business that bake their own cakes and pastry and bread really have a passion towards the quality. We ordered a few coffee and hot chocolate and my dad had a meat pie and my mum had a muffin. The muffin was good, nice and fluffy and my dad said the peat in the pie was full of flavour. Our coffee came out in paper cups, wish i only wish they came out in mugs or actual cups because we were dining in, we didn't ask for take away yet the waiter did not ask us if were dining in or having take away. I only realise when theread more
We had stopped over the town on the weekend after driving for over an hour from Melbourne. It was the first time in Yea, nice little town area with many different shops and cafes on offer. Wondering along the streets there were so many options and most had people in it, either locals or those also passing by like us. We decided on Yea Bakery, there were plenty of diners and I could see a toilet that was within the caf, which worked out to be perfect. We ordered a few coffees, many cakes on displays all of which looked so great. However I was after something savoury and opted for their homemade pasty. This is by far one of the best pasties Ive had, given that it was home made you could actually taste the vegetables inside and plenty of it, unlike the frozen ones you would purchase at the supermarket and its just filled with pastry. The service was friendly and prompt, the wait wasnt long.
