After a long walk from Mentone along the beach I arrived at Black Rock to discover that there were a couple a bars that were still open in the village. That turned out to be quite a relief as I could then sit down for about fifteen minutes and have a drink before I continued my journey, and this was the bar that seemed to be less crowded. Like most of Black Rock it is not cheap, and they have a small selection of craft beers on tap, and they only serve schooners. It is not the quietest of places either, but I didn't mind it. They have seating out on the side of the road so you can look out over the bay, which is quite nice at sunset, however it can be difficult to get to without a car. However, I would like to come back down here again some time because it isn't the most crowded beachside area of Melbourne.
