Your optometrist
Dr Attilio Gioia is the clinical principal of SpectaclesPLUS (Visioncare) and has been practicing Optometry for 30 years. He completed a Bachelor of Science in 1978, majoring in Physiology and Biochemistry, and then went on to obtain his Bachelor of Optometry in 1980 from the The University of Melbourne. He practices in all sub-speciality areas of optometry with a particular interest in the early detection of eye diseases, especially glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. He uses advanced diagnostic instrumentation including Automated Perimetry and Diagnostic Retinal Imaging. In addition to being a member of Optometrist Association of Australia, he is also a member of Provision Optometrists that strive to maintain high standards in Optometric practice. He is involved in pre- and post-operative care of patients undergoing refractive and cataract surgery and co-manages patients with a wide network of local eye surgeons.
