Hermit House Cottage is located near Mount Dandenong only 35 kilometres east of Melbourne. Positioned in a secluded hideaway set in a 95-year-old botanical wonderland, with stately pines, oaks, beech trees, blooming wildflowers, dahlias, columbines camellias rhododendrons and azaleas. In former times the rhododendrons ran riot in the garden, their interlocking branches blazing pink, red and purple flowers closing over the long drive. When renovating and redecorating the cottage, we opened up the garden to let the sun filter into the house, but were careful to preserve its peace and seclusion. Once inside there's no trace of the busy world beyond the garden. Hermit House is an old-world cottage with verandahs on three sides and two bedrooms with pretty lace curtains, lace doilies and carpet the colour of claret magnolias. One bedroom features an elegant carved four-poster bed, with matching wardrobe, dressing table and bedside tables. The other bedroom has a cast iron king/twin bed with matching fittings. A large oval spa sits beneath the bay window of the bathroom and has a wonderful outlook. The lounge room has a magnificent three piece tapestry lounge suite, Edwardian cast iron fire place, television, video, CD and stereo. A country kitchen with full cooking facilities set up with all your breakfast needs. Feast upon delicious breakfasts, laze by the open fire, soak in the foam filled double spa or stay warm in the magnificent four poster bed. Create beautiful memories.
