    Seafood Merimbula, NSW
We shopped here today & intended to purchase fresh prawns but were so taken with the fresh appearance of the Tuna we bought that instead. I commented to the shop assistant that it looked very fresh & they did not reply. That in itself should have rung Alarm bells. On returning to our accommodation we unwrapped the Tuna & noticed it was a very bright pink colour. I have never seen this before. Fresh Albacore Tuna is white & Yellow fin very red. Mistified we seared it on the Barbeque. We were horrified at the result; after just searing both sides & leaving the middle rare the fish started to break apart & pustules of blood started to break out of the side of the fish. Clearly this was NOT fresh Tuna & to make it worse they had coloured it an un natural pink colour using some sort of food colouring. I feel that I have been deceived & it casts serious doubt about the rest of their seafood. Exercise caution if you are going to shop here because what you think you are buying may not be what you get. A wasted $25, a rubbish bin with Tuna in it & I have learnt the hard way.
